WELCOME TO CLASSIE LASSIE GIRLS SOFTBALL!
The Classie Lassies Girls Softball League was formed in 1974 with the goal of promoting athletics, teamwork and the principles of good sportsmanship. The league began with approximately 100 girls and games were played at local school athletic fields. In 1983, with community support, seventeen acres of land off of Edwards Rd. in Wynantskill were purchased for development into a girl’s softball facility. Initially, the League had just 2 fields and an old retired milk truck served as the concession stand.
Today, Classie Lassies has grown in to one of the best and largest youth softball organizations in the Capital District. Our facilities now include four enclosed fields and a tee ball field, a fully stocked concession stand, a covered picnic pavilion, modern restroom facilities, and a full range of maintenance & safety equipment. The League serves over 300 girls ranging in age from 5 through 16 in five competitive and non-competitive divisions.
In addition to our regular recreation season, the league supports several travel teams that compete in the Hudson Mohawk Softball League, tournaments through USA, USSSA, PONY, and private entities, as well as hosts several multi-day tournaments that bring in teams from all across New York and the Northeast.
